sessions will be:
-
Personalized
Our initial session will include a thirty minute to one hour meeting/ interview either in person or on zoom. Together we will explore what you would like focus on. Perhaps there is a particular challenge you’d like to address, or an intention you would like to manifest. I will filter your intention thru my creative lens and compose a unique chant for you to integrate into your personal practice.
-
Unique
Everyone has pain points when it comes to achieving self-compassion and effective self-care. I’ll work closely with you to create your own personal mantra/song to help you turn your obstacles into opportunities. As Krishna Das said so beautifully, “The heart is like a mirror. When we dust it off we are able to see ourselves. The dust is all our stuff-guilt, anger-this stuff is reflected back to us. Practice removes the dust from the mirror of our hearts.”
-
Effective
I will deliver a 1-3 minute recording of your chant via email in a digital format along with a PDF of the words to your chant. Your commitment to singing your personalized inner song includes a daily practice of either listening to my voice, or learning the chant and singing it out loud. Sing it in the shower, sing it in the car, sing it while exercising, sing it while getting ready for bed. Just SING IT!!!
“Ajahn Chah , the thai master said letting go is the heart of the teachings of the buddha. if you let go a little, you ‘ll have a little freedom. if you let go a lot, you’ll have a lot of freedom. If you let go completely, your heart will be completely free”

FAQs
what are the benefits of chanting?
Chanting is a love poem to self. As we integrate the chant into a daily practice, we spend much less time in negative states of mind, and the way we navigate our lives, the choices we make begin to change with the new neural pathways we create. It is important to approach your chanting practice with a sense of wonder and playfulness.
What is Neuroplasticity?
Neuroplasticity is a beautiful thing. Limiting self-beliefs almost always have their root in painful or even traumatic experiences that we have yet to resolve. We can loosen their grip through inner processes that are rich in awareness and self-compassion, such as Internal Family Systems Parts work, Somatic Experiencing work, Chanting, and Meditation.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
In between anguishing, languishing, and flourishing, there is living. We can shape our mindsets and build resilience. Personalized chanting is for everyone who is invested in creating a better future for themselves and for others. Contributing to our own healing, contributes to the wellbeing of all. Get comfortable with letting go and coming back again. Repetition is the key to turning obstacles into opportunities, challenges into change, stumbling blocks into stepping stone, and losses into gains.
What People Are Saying
I absolutely felt comfortable sharing my challenges with Penni. She made me feel really safe, and the lyrics that she delivered and prepared for me resonated and captured exactly what I was looking for and now whenever I chant the chant, I feel so empowered.
I’m finding that I’m singing my chant all the time. I sing it both out loud and, in my mind, when it’s not appropriate to be singing out loud. I love the fact that I’m not really a great singer, but the tone that Penni set it to is actually one that I can carry a tune to which I think she did intentionally, so I’m able to carry the tune as I sing it. It’s in my head and I love it!
I absolutely 100 million percent recommend Penni’s personalized chants to friends, colleagues, family… I think it’s a wonderful thing. I think it’s a perfect gift for someone, something so unique and I think it can really help. I think the customization helps address the things you are dealing with in the moment.

Quotes for inspiration
-
Deepak Chopra
“Every time you are tempted to react in the same old way, ask if you want to be a prisoner of the past or a pioneer of the future. Our future is created from choices we make every minute. The past is gone, the future is not here, in the present we are free of both.”
-
Dr. Mark Epstein
“Awakening does not mean a change in difficulty; it means a change in how those difficulties are met. Enlightenment does not mean getting rid of anything. It means changing one’s frame of reference so that all things become enlightening.”
-
Pema Chodron
“Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It’s a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity.”

The Guest House
This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they are a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweet your house empty of its furniture, still treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing and invite them in. Be grateful for whatever comes because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

Love After Love
The time will come when, with elation you will greet yourself arriving at your own door, in your own mirror and each will smile at the other's welcome, and say, sit here. Eat. You will love again the stranger who was your self. Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life, whom you ignored for another, who knows you by heart. Take down the love letters from the bookshelf, the photographs, the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror. Sit. Feast on your life.

Self-Observation without Judgment
Release the harsh and pointed inner voice. It’s just a throwback to the past, and holds no truth about this moment. Let go self-judgement, the old, learned ways of beating yourself up for each imagined inadequacy. Allow the dialogue within the mind to grow friendlier, and quiet. Shift out of inner criticism and life suddenly looks very different. I can say this only because I make the choice a hundred times a day to release the voice that refuses to acknowledge the real me. What’s needed here isn’t more prodding toward perfection, but intimacy-seeing clearly, and embracing what I see. Love, not judgement, sows the seeds of tranquility and change.
